The fireplace, foundation walls, and landscaping are of local sandstone. Floors are cherry plank, slate, tatami mats (master bedroom), exposed black stone (master bathroom) and sandstone on radiant floor heating. Walls are of gypsum board or wide architectural grade red cedar boards. Exterior siding is of cedar and local sand stone.
Garage: Large attached two-car heated garage with storage and work bench area. Sod green roof blends into the natural state surroundings.
Studio/Mechanical Building: This building of approximately 400 square feet (37.2 square metres) houses the desalination and mechanical systems on the north side and on the south an exercise room with ocean views which also could be suitable as an office, artist studio, etc.

Area and Location: The property is situated on a quiet country no-through road at the north end of this peaceful and serene island, often referred to as “the jewel” of the Gulf islands. It is about a 20 minute drive from Sturdies Bay and ferry terminal (accessed from Active Pass at south end). The general area is excellent for boating, canoeing, kayaking, diving and summer swimming. Plus fishing, crabbing, shrimping and mollusks. The area also has a lot of wildlife and marine life - such as soaring Bald Eagles, Hawks, Gulls, Blue Herons, shore birds. Otters and Seals are quite common plus pods of Orcas (killer whales). All of which come very close to the property with the whales being one of the best sights to see.
Galiano Island: Galiano Island (48°52’N.,123°20’W) is a peaceful and tranquil island located at the north end of Active Pass and is bounded by the Strait of Georgia on the North and by Trincomali Channel (48°51’N.,123°23’W) on the South. The island is approximately 30.6 kilometers (19 miles) long and an average of approximately 6.3 kilometers (4 miles) wide. It is the second largest of the Southern Gulf Islands. The island offers many conveniences and services mostly in the area known as Sturdies Bay (BC Ferry Terminal). The island has several natural state parks (provincial and national), hiking/walking trails in the forest and on the beaches, golf course, restaurants, small stores. There are some Government Docks and a main Marina in Montague Harbour (south west side of the island). Galiano Island located in the heart of the Gulf Islands is easily accessed by B.C.
