Hope Bay: Hope Bay is a charming community with government wharf. There is a small newly constructed commercial complex at the head of the dock with store and a number of businesses, services and restaurant. The Pender Island Office of the Southern Gulf Islands National Park is also located in this building. There are areas in which to park ones car. Hope Bay is about 6 kilometres (3.73 miles) from ferry terminal at Otter Bay.
Pender Island: Although treated as one entity, Pender is actually two islands, North Pender 9.8 square miles (25.4 square kilometres) and South Pender 3.3 square miles (8.6 square kilometres) being connected by a picturesque, 298 foot bridge over the narrow navigable Pender Canal.
